Events
Create and edit Seatme events, performances, prices, sales windows, and sold-out flags.
My Events is the list of events your role can see. Open one for its dates, attendees, and stats. Events under Catalog is the same list.
People limited to selected events or venues only see those.
Create an event
- 1
Contact details
Organiser name, contact email, and phone.
- 2
Basics
Event name, venue, event type, seating chart, and description.
The venue list for a new event includes public venues in the catalogue, not only rooms you have used before. A venue you add yourself stays pending until Seatme approves it. It is not public until then.
- 3
Date and pricing
Performance dates, runtime, interval, the sales window, and the price for each ticket type.
When the event has more than one performance, each performance keeps its own seating chart. Do not point every date at one shared chart. If you build a chart while you are in this wizard, Seatme brings you back to the event with that chart selected.
Each performance can override when sales open and close. If a date has no override, it uses the event's sales start and sales end.
- 4
Media
Event images. These are what buyers see on the event page and in link previews.
- 5
Extras
Categories, languages, add-ons, checkout questions, inventory, ticket limits, marketing, and notes.
Ticket limit per buyer applies across every performance of the event, unless you turn on a per-performance limit. Box office sales do not count toward that buyer cap.
- 6
Legal agreement
Accept and sign the merchant agreement, then submit.
A draft of the wizard is kept in the browser until you submit or leave it.
Sales windows and sold out
- Sales start is when the public can buy. Before that, the event page can stay visible while the chart stays locked, unless the buyer has an early-access code.
- Sales end closes online sales. After that, the event page hides Book tickets and shows your online sales closed message. Leave that message empty to use Seatme's default wording.
- A performance can close earlier or later than the event. A performance with no override stays on sale when the event itself has no end time.
- Sold out can be set by hand on the event or on one performance. It is separate from the seats actually running out. Marking one date sold out does not mark the other dates sold out on the public list. Paid tickets and holds are not cancelled when you turn the flag on.
Door staff can still sell after public online sales have ended. See Box office.
Ticket types at the door
A ticket type marked at the door only still shows in the price list, with "(at door)" after the price. Buyers on the public chart cannot select it. Only box office staff can, and only when that performance is today.
Editing a live event
Edit uses the same steps, then Review & save. Saving keeps each performance and the tickets already sold for it.
You cannot remove a performance that already has paid tickets. Postpone the event, or cancel it, instead of deleting that date. Postponing moves the performances and leaves each ticket on the same performance.
On a seated event, each performance still needs its own chart after you add dates. Seatme will not stamp one chart onto every new date.
Stats and attendees
From an event you can open attendees and statistics. Front of house do not see the statistics view. Scanning is covered for door staff in Front of house.
