Venues and seating charts

Merchant venues, approval, and how seating charts attach to each performance.

Venues

Venues are the rooms you sell.

• When you create or edit an event, the venue list includes public catalogue venues, not only rooms already used on your events.
• Venues in the menu lists rooms already attached to your events.
• A venue you add yourself stays pending until Seatme approves it. It is not on the public venue list until then.
• Venue managers can look after venues and charts, and they can see the events and orders tied to them.

Seating charts

Seating charts are the maps for those rooms.

• Build or edit a chart, then choose it on the event.
• Each performance has its own chart. A multi-date event must not reuse one chart on every date. Tickets, holds, and sold seats belong to that performance's chart.
• If you create a chart from the event form, Seatme returns you to the event and selects the new chart.
• After tickets have been sold, do not point that performance at a different chart. Sold seats would no longer line up.

A chart can be set so buyers cannot leave a single empty seat between the seats they choose. Seatme checks that when they continue, and again when the order is created. It does not block the first click on a seat.

On a table chart, the seat count is the chairs. A table label such as A is the row for those chairs (A1, A2, and so on). An empty table title gets the next letter.
